WorldWide Telescope Announced

Yesterday Microsoft announced the WorldWide Telescope, which will allow users to create their own customized tours of the universe. I've always been interested in astronomy, and can't wait to kick the tires on this. It looks like it'll also be a great tool for introducing the kids to the wonders of space. It's supposed to be publicly available this spring. In the meantime, here's a short video of the announcement at TED:
