Visit to the Mayo Clinic
I just got home after spending the last 2 days with my wife Julie at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Julie’s been having a lot of pain since her surgery earlier this year, and every doctor who has been involved thus far has been unwilling or unable to step-up and help her. What a difference a trip to the Mayo Clinic makes. To start things off, Julie had a one-on-one session with a top-notch doctor for over an hour. Within the first couple of hours, the doctors had formulated a preliminary plan of attack, and had given Julie a printed itinerary of all the places she needed to be and at what times. In the Twin Cities, doctors only seem focused on avoiding lawsuits and getting you out of the office in the shortest time possible. At Mayo, you get the sense that they are actually going to do what it takes to get to the bottom of things. I finally have a positive feeling that Julie is receiving some tangible, professional help.
