Flickr GeoTagging- Very Cool

The flickr photo sharing service this week introduced geotagging- the ability to tag a photo with a specific geographic location. This is a great idea, and is well executed to boot. You can associate your photos with a location by simply dragging and dropping them onto a Yahoo map, which is provided in a new tab in flickr. Once you have your photos tagged, you can get a look at where all your photos have been taken. The really neat thing about this is you can also search for other people’s photos taken in a specific location. For instance, you could zoom in on Yosemite National Park and view any picture taken there. Very cool.
