Brad Delp, Lead Singer of Boston, Dies
I just read that Brad Delp has died. As the lead singer of Boston, he left me with a lot of great memories of my high school years, when I worshiped at the altar of Boston and Cheap Trick. I saw them in concert at the old Met Center in Bloomington, MN in 1979 on their "Don't Look Back" tour. It was my first big rock concert, and I still remember it being a great show- they returned to the stage 4 different times for encores. After the show my buddies and I dined on about 100 White Castle hamburgers- good times. I think I still have an old vinyl picture disc of their debut album packed away somewhere. Rest in peace, Brad- thanks for the music and the memories.
I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away
UPDATE: Apparently his death was a suicide, which makes it even sadder.
