Al Franken for US Senate?
Today Al Franken announced he is running for US Senate in Minnesota. May God have mercy on our souls. Hopefully we learned our lesson with celebrity politicians after the debacle that was Jesse Ventura. Time will tell, but unfortunately most Minnesotans seem to love the far left.

Had It With Political TV Ads
Today is finally election day- thank God. I don’t think I could have withstood another onslaught of mudslinging political ads. It just seems to get more ridiculous every year, and I’m sure it will only become exponentially worse. Why do they insist on treating viewers as if we’re morons who are unable to think for ourselves? Maybe their target audiences ARE the uneducated, unwashed masses. It would be such a refreshing change to see a political ad where the candidate comes out, sits on a stool, and details his/her position on the issues for 30-60 seconds. No slick production with a bunch of handshaking and shiny happy people. No ominous music with the most unflattering photo of the opponent you can find. Just a camera, a stool, and a candidate. By the way, while I’m ranting, being against something is NOT a position, unless you have an alternative plan. I think a lot of candidates have lost sight of that fact this year. Now please excuse me while I try to enjoy a few weeks of bliss before the 2008 election cycle rolls around.
